As fantastic as we all are as individuals, we always encourage people to join up into groups. You can still take part as an individual of course, but just imagine how much better your game would be if you also had some people with you with skills and/or experience in other areas. Or maybe you are very good at what you do and want to showcase it, but not really sure if your idea is the one you want to take part with, so you would want to join up with someone who has a specific idea and vision for a game. To facilitate this we offer you the chance to network with people at the workshops, and of course to post your details and/or points of interest here.

Remember that anything is possible, no matter how small or large your group. An ideal group size is perhaps around 3-5 people, depending on circumstances, keeping in mind that too large a group can also be too difficult to organize.

To get you started, some of the key skills in making a game can include (but are in no way limited to)
  • scripting / programming
  • graphics (2D/3D modelling/drawing/shading/graphics engine programming/...)
  • storyline (dep on the game, basic idea or complex storyline throughout)
  • game mechanics
  • sound/music (compose/process)
  • testing for playability, bugs, fun, ...

Is there anyone that is interested in joining our group.

This is one of the games that we have been working on and thinking of submitting to IGIA10
"The Fly on the Wall", http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z-ZFQ6Lj0UI
You can look at the YouTube video of the game concept.

Anyone interested in game development is welcome to join : )

You can mail me @ mail(at)kjartanjonsson.com

We in the Path to Ares group still need 2-3 programmers.

If you can work with others and are quick to learn new things please contact us at audunn.jonsson@gmail.com or my igi mail.

It would help if you were familiar with unity, Boo programming or Git VCS

Hey Kristján,

Is it alright if i advertise my freelance services on this page?

Reply to This

Hi Kári, thanks for asking :)

Not on this page specifically unfortunately. You are free to advertise your freelance services on the IGI site, but not specifically within the IGIA10 group or IGI Awards related pages and forums (etc).

Thanks for the answer Kristján,

Where would you recommend i should post things like that? :)

Hi Kári :)

for specific skills, join the groups for that (example: http://www.igi.is/group/visualartists) or feel free to create a new one. I have also just now created a new forum for the purpose of advertising things like that. In the near future we are considering something more prominent on the site to allow a better marketplace to develop for these things but haven't decided on that yet.
