It's that time again :) we are on to our 7th meetup now. Note the one-off location at Hugmyndahúsið and the marginally different time of 20:30 this time.
This meet-up has a dual focus. We will be introducing the IGI Awards 2010 (IGIA10) and the competition leading up to that. Also Benjamin Bohn, Art Producer at CCP, will present a talk titled "The Art Production Process".
Also note the follow-up event on Nov 7th, the first IGIA10 workshop.
IGIA10:
we are finally ready to launch the first annual games design/creation competition of IGI, dubbed IGI Awards. A group has already been created here on the IGI website for the purpose of giving you more information, which will see a lot of updates in the next few days and weeks. For now, suffice it to say that you should of course attend the next meetup to see what it's all about and bring all your friends along (as usual) : )
[ followed up by a special session on Saturday Nov 7th as the first IGIA10 workshop ]
The Art Production Process
Benjamin Bohn, Art Producer at CCP
In a large scale production environment teams are big and calendars spread over long periods of time. Remaining reactive and flexible is a challenge but an absolute necessity.
Some of the key features of Art Production are:
-Not just ready, but “production ready”.
-Art production in a Scrum environment.
-Outsourcing: why and how?
As usual, we will of course leave some time in the end for networking and idle chit-chat ;)
Hope to see you all there and let's see if we can't reach record numbers this time, since we have that big venue all to ourselves :)
